The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Anthony Robino (ASN: 38171708), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 7 August 1944, in France. Private First Class Robino was assigned to duty as a machine gunner with an infantry force engaged in repelling a determined enemy drive. The enemy was making a desperate attempt to divide American forces in France, and had launched a mighty thrust supported with considerable armor. Despite the ferocity of the attack, and with complete disregard for his personal safety, Private First Class Robino remained at his post giving protection to a road block until the hostile thrust had been repulsed. The dogged determination and great personal courage displayed by this heroic actions reflect great credit on Private First Class Robino reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
