(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Private William J. Nosal (ASN: 36629377), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the 108th Medical Battalion, 33d Infantry Division, in action in the Philippine Islands during World War II. While evacuating a casualty, Private Nosal was twice wounded but continued to administer aid to his patient. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
