Private First Class Louis was a member of a three-man demolition team assigned to blow holes in a hedgerow tomake an approach for an attack. When he reached the place in the hedgerow he found a German machine gun peeking out. He lit the fuse of the demolition charge, held it awhile, and then tossed it into the nest, killing the German gun crew. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Private First Class Louie, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
