Harry Hubbard graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1934. He retired in 1958 as a U.S. Army Colonel. In 1990, after many years of research in both the United States and Europe, he published The Genealogy of the Hubbard and Bogel Families of Presidio County, Texas.

The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Lieutenant Colonel Hubbard, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
