One of eleven children, Clifford Field Frith spent his boyhood in rural Franklin County, Virginia, in the pre-Depression era. To help his family survive, he drove mule teams. After a traumatic family event in his early teens, Frith surrendered his life to the Lord in full time ministry, and was ordained a Baptist minister. After serving in World War II, he went on to pastor for three different congregations. He and his wife Ruth, and their three teen children, cared for nearly sixty needy children over the course of fifteen years.
