The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class [then Private] Warren G. Fouraker (ASN: 44006390), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division, on 15 March 1945, in the vicinity of Bocchnilder, Germany. As the company was advancing on Bocchnilder, it was fired upon by enemy artillery located about five hundred yards to the left front. Private Fouraker, and two other riflemen, maneuvered forward and fired upon the weapon crew, wounding two and forcing the remainder to abandon the weapon. During the artillery barrage, the three men discovered and attacked an enemy observation post, wounding one and taking two prisoners. The heroic action of Private Fouraker and his utter disregard for personal safety enabled the company to advance on the town and reflect great credit upon himself and the armed forces.
