The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Second Lieutenant Allen James Greer, United States Army, for most distinguished gallantry on 2 July 1901, while serving with 4th Cavalry, in action at Majada, Laguna Province, Philippine Islands. Second Lieutenant Greer charged alone an insurgent outpost with his pistol, killing one, wounding two, and capturing three insurgents with their rifles and equipment.
