(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Colonel (Infantry) Hallett Daniel Edson, United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving as Commanding Officer, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division, at Saint Pilt, France, on 20 December 1944. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Colonel Edson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
