Dalton (ASN: 0-2010906), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 2d Battalion, 331st Infantry Regiment, 83d Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Germany on 1 March 1945. Completely disregarding his own safety in the face of heavy enemy fire, Second Lieutenant Dalton and his platoon guide stormed an enemy position, hurling hand grenades and firing their rifles as they ran.
