(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Technical Sergeant Paul J. Andert, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving with the 2d Armored Division in action at St. Dennis-le-Gast, France, during World War II. Although wounded, Technical Sergeant Andert prevented forward elements of his platoon from being isolated and materially aided in the defense of the town. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
