(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Private First Class Max L. Alcantar, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with Company K, 415th Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division during World War II. An automatic rifleman in the first wave, Private First Class Alcantar silenced the gun. He was wounded by shrapnel, but maintained his position until the other men in the wave were successfully withdrawn.
