(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Major (Infantry) Jean L. Wood, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with as Commanding Officer, 2d Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division in Korea. Despite an injury, he reorganized a jeep patrol which he had been leading and which had been dispersed by heavy small arms fire from enemy troops dug in on a hill.
