    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Corporal Ray C. Turcotte (ASN: RA-11187155), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, In action against the enemy in Korea on 6 February 1951. During Operation THUNDERBOLT near Seous, South Korea, his unit was blocked by heavy enemy fire. Corporal Turcotte moved forward with his Browning Automatic rifle and covered the withdrawal of his comrades until he was mortally wounded. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
