    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private George S. Myers, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 19 September 1863, while serving with Company F, 101st Ohio Infantry, in action at Chickamauga, Georgia. Private Myers saved the regimental colors by greatest personal devotion and bravery.
