    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Sergeant Roy Gilbert Stallard (ASN: RA-33657476), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion, 25th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy in Korea. Near Chung Bolgok, Korea, on 25 October 1950, Sergeant Stallard’s convoy was subjected to heavy enemy attack, Despite exposure to small arms and automatic weapons fire and hand grenades, he assumed a firing position o nth e road, covered the displacement of his platoon with steady, effective fire and resolutely maintained contact with the enemy until mortally wounded. Sergeant Stallard’s initiative, courage and selfless devotion to his comrades reflects great credit upon himself and upholds the highest traditions of the Military Service of the United States.
