The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Chaplain’s Corps) Ora Jason Cohee, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 34th Infantry Regiment, 7th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Rembercourt, France, 1 and 2 November 1918. Chaplain Cohee worked untiringly, under constant artillery fire, for two days, in charge of the stretcher bearers, personally assisted in carrying wounded men to safety.
