Scott, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with Company E, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division in action against the enemy in Korea in 1952. Private First Class Scott was a member of a six-man reconnaissance patrol which came under intense enemy fire. He ordered his comrades into the cover of a trench, knowing there was not room for himself, and remained exposed to the enemy as he directed the patrol’s return fire. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
