Headquarters, 25th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 89 (February 1, 1951)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Raimund Schulz (ASN: 0-1298446), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Company E, 2d Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy in Korea. On 27 November 1950, a large enemy force penetrated the perimeter of a task force near Ipsok, Korea. Repeatedly exposing himself to heavy hostile fire, Lieutenant Schulz assisted in deploying a company to the sector where enemy forces were strongest. When the executive officer was wounded he unhesitatingly assumed additional duties. Continually moving across the fire-swept terrain, he assisted materially in the successful defense of the area. Lieutenant Schultz’s courage, exemplary leadership and unremitting devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
