(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Jack Rodrugez, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with Battery C, 202d Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons) Battalion, in action near Los Negros, on or about 20 December 1944. When two LSTs were set afire by enemy planes which dived into them, Jack Rodrugez risked his life by diving into the water to rescue those who were wounded and those who were poor swimmers. His gallant actions and selfless devotion to duty, without regard for his own safety, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
