The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal (Posthumously) to Brigadier General Thomas E. Roderick (ASN: 0-7383), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Deputy Assistant Chief and later as Chief of the Intelligence Staff in North Africa, during the period 1 March 1944 to 21 September 1944. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Roderick reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Army.
