The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technician Fourth Grade [then Private First Class] Marcos Redoble, United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Company A, 57th Infantry (Philippine Scouts), in action at Southwest Bataan, Philippine Islands, in February 1942. When the machine gun squad of which he was the leader became separated from the company in the jungle fighting near Anyasan Point, Technician Redoble displayed able, exemplary, and gallant leadership in continuing the attack and advancing his positions until he attained the objective on the beach at Anyasan. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
