(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Army Air Forces Award) (Posthumously) to Second Lieutenant (Infantry) Robert F. Ramhorst (ASN: 0-1315724), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with the 182d Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division (Americal), in support of aerial operations at Bougainville, Solomon Islands, on 12 March 1944. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Second Lieutenant Ramhorst, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
