(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Colonel Bak Chan Kang, Republic of Korea Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallangry in action while leading his battalion of the 9th Republic of Korea Division in hand-to-hand fighting on 10 and 11 October 1952. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
