The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private Raymundo T. Padua (ASN: 10300709), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company, 12th Medical Battalion (Philippine Scouts), in action on 26 April 1942, at Corregidor, Philippine Islands. During heavy artillery fire, Private Padua courageously administered first aid to wounded soldiers at Middle Side Barracks and evacuated them under shell fire without regard for his personal safety.
