(Citation and/or Narrative Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Sergeant Stephen P. Noble, United States Army, was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for heroism involving voluntary risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. On 28 July 2007, at approximately 1520, while off-duty, Sergeant Noble stoppped on Purple Heart Highway to assist on the scene of an accident. Upon arrival, Sergeant Noble noticed that a vehicle had overturned into the wood line as was on fire. Without regard for his personal safety and in great danger of serious injury or death from smoke and flames, Sergeant Noble assisted in getting the driver out and away from the burning vehicle. Shortly after getting the driver away, the fuel tank ignited and the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
