(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Joseph Paul Kingston, United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving while serving with an Infantry Company of the 32d Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Korea, on 22 April 1951. He demonstrated resolute leadership and consummate courage against an enemy force that outnumbered his company by more than twenty to one. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Kingston, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
