    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Captain (Infantry) Harry L. Morris (ASN: 0-1286535), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy on 29 January 1942, while serving as Signal Officer with the 91st Division, Philippine Army. He courageously led a detail into the enemy-occupied barrio of Bagnac, Bataan, for the purpose of recovering telephone wire and other supplies. Despite enemy fire and resistance, Captain Morris was able to recover the equipment so badly needed by the I Corps in their defense of Bataan.
