Headquarters, 2d Infantry Division, General Orders No. 528 (September 19, 1951)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Albert P. Moralez (ASN: US-56076687), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Company L, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2d Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 29 July 1951, in the vicinity of Taeusan, Korea. During an assault upon enemy positions the company was forced to make a tactical withdrawal in the face of heavy enemy small arms and automatic weapons fire. Private Moralez, without regard for his own safety, exposed himself to place effective fire upon the enemy, thus enabling his comrades to withdraw to safety with a minimum of casualties. Only after all members of the company had withdrawn to safe positions and set up a defensive position did Private Moralez withdraw. The gallantry in action displayed by Private Moralez on this occasion reflect great credit upon himself and the military service.
