(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Private First Class Robie Lee Jordan (ASN: RA-13277252), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with Company A, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, on 8 March 1951, in Korea. While defending his position against a determined, superior Chinese force, Private First Class Jordan was killed when he exposed himself to enemy fire to cover the withdrawal of his comrades. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
