The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Bronze Star Medal to Major (Infantry) Allen Douglas Gezelman (ASN: 0-95929), United States Army, for meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against a hostile force during the period 3 January 1971 to 20 February 1971, while serving as Officer in Charge of the Territorial Training Team, 44th Special Tactical Zone, Advisory Team 50, Delta Military Assistance Command, Unites States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. In this position, Major Gezelman was responsible for the organization, planning, conduct, and supervision of training for the 95th Regional Force Company Group and the 61st Regional Force Company Group in the techniques of night operations. Major Gezelman’s extensive field experience, military knowledge and professionalism were evident throughout the training program. As a result of this exemplary leadership, a significant improvement was noted in the night capabilities of all the units trained. Major Gezelman’s outstanding achievement was in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
