The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Sergeant [then Technician Fifth Grade] Etts Galassi (ASN: 36060361), United States Army, for gallantry in action in Italy from November 1943 to 1 November 1944. Sergeant Galassi repeatedly volunteered for painstaking and responsible duties conducting Allied Agents across the most difficult terrain and under adverse weather conditions into German lines. His attitude in the course of nerve-wracking night patrols and under enemy fire and his skill as a scout and demonstrated good judgment is deserving of the highest praise. His dependability, willingness and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and upon the Armed Forces of the United States.
