The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class [then Private] Arthur C. Frazier (ASN: RA-14364809), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Heavy Mortar Company, [then Company F], 9th Infantry Regiment, 2d Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy on 28 February 1951, in the vicinity of Chigu-ri, Korea. Company F was ordered to seize the commanding high ground on its left flank. Half way up the hill the company was pinned down by intense enemy automatic weapons and small arms fire. Private Frazier, armed with his rifle and hand grenades, moved forward aggressively and engaged the enemy. Shouting words of encouragement to his comrades, he hurled his grenades into the enemy positions, inflicting many casualties on the enemy and forcing the remainder to flee. The gallant conduct displayed by Private Frazier reflects great credit upon himself and the military service.
