Headquarters, 25th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 66 (August 19, 1950)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Robert P. Eppert (ASN: RA-15415444), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity as a member of the Medical Detachment, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division in Korea. On 27 July 1950, near Kwanggen, Korea, while Private First Class Eppert was administering first aid to the wounded, enemy artillery inflicted further wounds on those awaiting evacuation. Although his own wounds were severe enough to require his later evacuation, Private First Class Eppert continued to treat the wounded and supervise their evacuation. His exemplary courage and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service.
