(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Corporal Peter A. Charlo, United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving as a Medical Aidman, *** Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, in action against the enemy near Pakchon, Korea, on 5 November 1950. Corporal Charlo moved 150 yards under fire to treat and evacuate several comrades who were wounded in an enemy attack. His cool efficiency and conspicuous devotion to duty undoubtedly were responsible for saving his wounded comrades from further injury. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
