The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to First Sergeant Enmon L. Dorsey (ASN: 20760118), United States Army, for heroism while serving with the 35th Infantry Division in the vicinity of ****, Germany, on 16 “April 1945. When a fellow soldier’s gasoline-soaked clothing was accidentally ignited, Sergeant Dorsey and a companion rushed in from an adjoining room and quickly extinguished the flames by throwing the burning man to the floor and rolling him in a blanket. Sergeant Dorsey’s prompt action, presence of mind and disregard for personal safety enabled his comrade to escape with only serious burns about the head and hands and undoubtedly saved his life.
