The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private First Class Peter Bragg (ASN: 32753413), United States Army, for heroism involving voluntary risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy, while serving with the 3209th Quartermaster Service company. On 29 December 1944, at Uckange, France, Private Bragg displayed great courage and unselfish devotion to duty in going to the aid of another soldier whose clothes were aflame as the result of an explosion. His quick, heroic actions undoubtedly saved his comrade from serious injury, and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.
