The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Lieutenant (MC) Jack S. Terry, United States Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Medical Officer, first with the U.S. Naval Aviation Detachment at Bolsena, Italy, and later at Porto Corsini, where he did excellent work in the prevention of diseases peculiar to the swampy and malarial country in which the station was located. During air raids by the enemy he constantly exposed himself to danger by visits to the various dugouts for rendering medical assistance.
