The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Rinaldo Van Brunt (ASN: 0-16225), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Chief of Staff, I Corps, in Korea during the period 11 September 1950 to 24 October 1951. (This award supersedes the award of the Legion of Merit to General Van Brunt , for service from 11 September to 2 November 1950, published in General Orders 126, General Headquarters, Far East Command, 20 May 1951.)
