Eric Shinseki graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1965. He is the first Asian American to reach four-star rank. From 1998 to 1999 he served as the 28th Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, and from June 21, 1999 to June 11, 2003, served as the 34th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army.
