During the withdrawal of Company L, seeing the trouble his men were having under heavy enemy fire, Colonel Richardson exposed himself to the fire and personally directed the withdrawal. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Colonel Richardson, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
