Bryant Moore graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of August 1917. From 1949 to 1951 he served as Superintendent of the Academy, before serving in Korea. As a Major General he was killed on February 24, 1951, when his helicopter crashed in Korea while he was visiting front-line troops.

Brigadier General Moore’s regiment was the target of exceptionally heavy mortar fire by the Japanese on Guadalcanal. The commanding officer of a battalion was killed, as were other officers, and Brigadier General Moore took over, directing American artillery fire so effectively that the enemy mortars were silenced.
