James Wendland graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut, Class of 1929.

Stephen Yeandle was commissioned through the School of Instruction of the Revenue Cutter Service in 1911. He retired as a U.S. Coast Guard Captain.
