Recipients

John Roberts graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1916. He retired as a U.S. Navy Rear Admiral.

All twelve pilots of Torpedo Squadron 3 who fought at Midway received the Navy Cross. Ten of the twelve were Missing in Action.

Beverly Reid was subsequently Killed in Action during the Eastern Solomon Campaign in August 1942.
