Robert Warren graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1940. As a bomber pilot, he served in both World War II and the Korean Wars, earning two Distinguished Flying Crosses. From 1962 to 1965 he served as the fourth Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy and retired in 1971 as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General.
