Hope (ASN: 1324447), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Hope distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Battery F, 113th Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Forces, in action on 27 October 1918, south of Bois de Begue, in the vicinity of Montfaucon, Argonne Offensive, France, in maintaining telephone liaison under enemy fire.
