Headquarters, 37th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 71 (March 31, 1945)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Adrian Marinucci (ASN: 15292978), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy at Luzon, Philippine Islands, on 17 February 1945. Private First Class Marinucci was a member of a platoon which was advancing toward Taft Avenue on the left side of Isaac Pearl Avenue in Manila. Hearing a call for help from one of his comrades who had been hit, he crawled across forty yards of level ground under fire, reached the wounded man, and dragged him back over the same route to safety. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Private First Class Marinucci, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
