    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Sergeant First Class Henry E. Nix (ASN: RA-14225117), United States Army, for gallantry in action as a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy in Korea. On 26 September 1950, when his platoon leader was killed while leading the platoon to assault enemy forces delaying the advance of the column near Sinen Myen, Korea, Sergeant First Class Nix immediately took charge of the platoon and led it to overrun the enemy position. Despite the face that he had suffered a painful chest wound, he continued to supervise the fire fight until the position was secure and the column was able to continue its advance. Sergeant First Class Nix’s indomitable courage and outstanding leadership reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Army.
