The ashes of Osborne Sellars were among 24 sets of cremains that were discovered in a basement closet at the Iron Island Museum in the year 2000. How the ashes came to be there remains a mystery. However, with assistance from the Patriot Guard Riders Veterans Recovery Program and the Missing in America Project, his cremains were interred with full military honors on 24 September 2010, at the Bath National Cemetery in Bath, New York.
