The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Sergeant Major Daniel L. Coberly, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from 23 May 1990 to 31 March 2000, while serving in numerous positions in nearly 27 years of distinguished service culminating as the Public Affairs Sergeant Major for the 21st Theater Support Command (Provisional). His extraordinary personal talents and leadership abilities have resulted in numerous awards and positive recognition, not only for himself, but also for the organizations to which he has been assigned. His exemplary performance reflects great credit upon him, the Army Public Affairs, and the United States Army.
