Private First Class Donald Louis Bernardy (MCSN: 280239), United States Marine Corps, was captured by the Japanese at Fort Mills, Philippine Islands, on 9 April 1942, and was held as a Prisoner of War until his death while still in captivity, on or about 9 August 1942.
